Bansbari land embezzlement: Chaudhary pledges to surrender ‘illegally’ acquired land



KATHMANDU: Arun Chaudhary, a businessperson arrested in connection with the misappropriation of land belonging to Bansbari Leather and Shoes Factory, has committed to returning the land if it is determined that the acquisition was illegal.

This assurance was conveyed by an investigation officer overseeing the statement recording process of Chaudhary, with Chief of the District Attorney Office, Kathmandu, Sandesh Shrestha, present during the proceedings, as informed by Superintendent of Police from the Central Bureau of Investigation, Nabaraj Adhikari.

Chaudhary, the former executive chair of Shoe Factory, along with Ajitnarayan Singh Thapa, the executive chair at the time of the incident, and Sanjay Thakur, proprietor of Champion Footwear Pvt and CG Chandvag Residency, were apprehended by the police in connection with the same case. The investigation has been initiated following their detainment.
