NEPSE index records double digit surge in Wednesday’s trading



KATHMANDU: The Nepali Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index surged into double digits on Wednesday, marking the third trading day of the week.

The NEPSE index soared by 27.90 points today, stabilizing at 2,058.

Trading activity witnessed 1,050,498 shares from 306 companies, amounting to NPR 4,048,857,454.

All sub-indices across different sectors experienced growth. The hydropower sub-index rose by 3.08, and the production and processing sub-index by 2.08. Seven company shares hit the positive circuit limit during today’s trading.

Shares of Divyeshwori Hydropower Limited, NRN Infrastructure and Development Limited, Peoples Hydropower Company Limited, Bhagwati Hydropower Development Company Limited, Sonapur Minerals and Oil Limited, and Muktinath Agriculture Company Limited have surged by 10%.

Conversely, Lakshmi Microfinance Limited witnessed a decrease of 5.10% in its share price, while Prabhu Smart Fund’s share price dropped by 4.81%.

Today, Sonapur Minerals and Oil Limited observed the trading of 570,717 shares, transacting for NPR 266,391,416.
