Judicial Council appoints 39 Judges to High Courts nationwide



KATHMANDU: The Judicial Council has finalized the appointment of 39 judges to several High Courts spanning the country.

During its session on Wednesday, the council reached a decision to fill these judicial positions within the High Courts.

Out of the appointed judges, a substantial count of 26 hails from the existing pool of officials serving as district judges, showcasing a considerable internal elevation within the judiciary.

Moreover, in a ‘move’ to incorporate expertise from the legal realm, the Council strategically selected 9 proficient legal practitioners to assume the role of judges in the High Courts.

Simultaneously, the Judicial Council extended its reach to elevate 4 civil service employees under the judicial service to the esteemed position of judges within the High Courts.
