37 local by-election: NC tops, Maoist Center and UML trail

KATHMANDU: The vote counting for the local level by-elections held on Sunday is ongoing, with the Election Commission having released results for 37 seats so far.

Based on these results, the Nepali Congress is currently in first place, securing 16 wards. The Nepali Congress is also leading in Kirtipur Municipality.

The Maoist Center is in second place, having won one rural municipality chair, one vice-chair, and six wards.

The CPN-UML has so far won five wards, including one chair and one vice-chair.

The Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal has won two ward chair positions in Madhesh Province.

Other parties and independent candidates have also secured seats, with the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), the Unified Socialist Party, the Nepal Workers and Peasants Party, and independent candidates each winning one seat.
