Madhesh Province to provide Rs 100,000 relief to flood victims



KATHMANDU: The Madhesh provincial government has announced a relief package of Rs 100,000 for the families of those who lost their lives in the floods and landslides that occurred on September 27 and 28.

Chief Minister Satish Kumar Singh made this announcement on Wednesday.

To streamline the relief process, Singh has instructed Chief District Officers in all eight districts of the province to implement a one-door system for delivering assistance to flood-affected residents.

He urged local authorities to ensure that relief and rehabilitation efforts are organized and effective in the affected areas.

During the announcement, Singh expressed gratitude to local officials, security personnel, and volunteers who played active roles in search, rescue, and immediate relief operations during the disaster.

He also called on national and international NGOs to assist in restoration efforts in the flood-affected villages.

Additionally, Singh stated that details of the damage to agriculture, irrigation, and infrastructure are currently being gathered, and he directed provincial ministries and agencies to facilitate the ongoing relief and rehabilitation work accordingly.
