RSP should distance itself from Rabi Lamichhane club: Mukul Dhakal

KATHMANDU: Dr. Mukul Dhakal, the suspended General Secretary of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), has called for the party to distance itself from the Rabi Lamichhane Club.

In a social media address to party members and supporters, Dhakal proposed three key suggestions to sever the party’s ties with the Lamichhane Club, emphasizing the need for responsibility and ethical behavior.

Dhakal argued that the RSP should uphold its integrity by focusing on nationalism, transparency, accountability, and alternative power structures.

He recounted that following his declaration to reform the party from the Rabi Lamichhane Club into Rastriya Swatantra Party, he was unlawfully expelled from the party in what he describes as a guerrilla-style action.

Dhakal has since sought justice from the Election Commission.

He criticized the club for allegedly aligning with Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda and KP Oli and engaging in internal negotiations with Sher Bahadur Deuba for the Prime Minister position.

Dhakal has claimed that these actions have led to accusations that he is being manipulated by Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and the Maoist Center.
