CHITWAN: The Bharatpur Metropolitan City has honored the former captain of the National Cricket Team, Sandeep Lamichhane.

Organizing a program in Chitwan on Tuesday, the metropolis felicitated cricketer Lamchhane with Rs 100,000.

Mayor Renu Dahal and Deputy-Mayor Chitra Sen Adhikari jointly honored Lamichhane.

On the occasion, Mayor Dahal expressed the view that hared that such a type of honor would encourage the sportspersons towards sports, adding the metropolitan city has kept the program of honoring athletes a priority.

The metropolis has been providing possible support in the sports sector including constructing a stadium, she mentioned.

Chairperson of the District Cricket Association, Sudip Piya lauded the role played by the metropolitan city for the development of the sports sector.
