RSP to remain in government unless PM Dahal resigns

KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has decided to remain in the government unless Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal resigns from his position.

With the CPN-UML, the main coalition partner of the Dahal-led government, joining hands with the Nepali Congress to form a new government, the Dahal administration is on the verge of collapse.

Ministers from the UML are set to resign today.

“The ministers of RSP will not resign until PM Dahal steps down,” said a party leader, adding that the RSP is not involved in forming a new government.

Meanwhile, according to his secretariat, PM Dahal has no intention of resigning any time soon.

A member of PM Dahal’s secretariat stated that the Prime Minister will decide whether to resign or seek a vote of confidence within 30 days, but only after coalition members withdraw their support.
