KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ emphasized the importance of focusing on the production of competitive human resources during a meeting with the recently appointed Vice Chancellors (VCs) of Purbanchal University, Mid-West University, and Far Western University at Singh Darbar today.

Prime Minister Dahal stated that the selection of VCs was based on merit, ensuring transparency and competitiveness in the process.

He commended the newly appointed VCs for their qualifications and directed them to operate the universities in a competitive and transparent manner.

“The practice of sharing posts among parties has ended, and appointments are now based on competition,” Prime Minister Dahal remarked, urging the VCs to fulfill their responsibilities fairly.

Additionally, Prime Minister Dahal urged the VCs to prioritize the production of skilled manpower capable of competing in the global market by providing quality education from universities.

In another context, while addressing a program titled ‘Let Us Go to Resunga,’ PM Dahal highlighted the tourism potential of Resunga, emphasizing its significance as an area with high potential for spiritual and nature tourism.

He underscored the historical, spiritual, cultural, and tourism heritages of Resunga, describing it as a religious pilgrimage site and a tranquil, scenic place of spiritualism.

Prime Minister Dahal stressed the need for all levels of government to actively contribute to the development of the tourism sector, emphasizing collaboration with non-governmental and community sectors for the sector’s expansion.

He assured necessary support from the federal government for the overall development of the Resunga area.
