Nepali leaders fly to New Delhi following BJP’s invitation

KATHMANDU: Five leaders representing various political parties of Nepal have flown to New Delhi, responding to an invitation extended by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

The invitation, aimed at fostering regional ties and political exchanges, specifically called upon leaders to observe the ongoing election campaign for the Lok Sabha in India.

The delegation comprises leaders including Udaya Shumsher Rana from Nepali Congress, Bishnu Rimal from CPN-UML, Matrika Yadav from the Maoist Center, Shishir Khanal of Rastriya Swatantra Party, and Dr. Jayakanta Raut from Janamat Party.

The BJP’s invitation included the CK Raut-led Janamat Party but omitted invitations to other prominent Nepali parties such as Upendra Yadav-led JSP and Mahant Thakur-led LSP.

This visit underscores the BJP’s engagement with its neighbors, extending invitations to leaders from 18 parties globally, with a particular focus on fostering relations with Nepal.
