Bagmati Province to swear in four new UML Ministers today

KATHMANDU: Bagmati Province Chief Minister Shalikram Jamkattel is poised to appoint four new ministers from CPN-UML.

After securing a vote of confidence on Monday, CM Jamkattel is slated to administer the oath of office to the new ministers this afternoon.

Sources reveal that the appointments will include Prakash Shrestha as Minister for Industry and Commerce, Keshav Pokharel as Minister for Forest and Environment, Ekalala Shrestha as Minister for Drinking Water, Energy, and Irrigation, and Rameshwor Shrestha as Minister for Health and Population.

Following the alliance between CPN-UML and CPN (Maoist Center) at the central level, CPN-UML is expected to secure five out of six ministerial portfolios previously held by Nepali Congress.

Jagannath Thapaliya, parliamentary party leader of CPN-UML in the province, has already been appointed Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning.
