Two killed in Udayapur jeep accident



KATHMANDU: A fatal accident involving a Bolero jeep in Katari, Udayapur claimed the lives of two passengers on Friday evening.

According to DSP Harinandan Chaudhary of the Udayapur District Police Office, 70-year-old Bir Bahadur Tamang and 33-year-old Lalkumari Tamang lost their lives in the tragic incident.

Thirteen individuals who sustained injuries in the accident are currently receiving treatment at Nobel Hospital in Biratnagar and Katari Hospital.

The accident occurred on Friday evening when the jeep with registration number Na.1. Ja 8333, traveling from Katari Bazaar to Majhetar, veered off the road.

DSP Chaudhary reported that the brakes had failed, causing the jeep to descend approximately 150 meters.
