RSP to pile pressure for regular supply of Melamchi water

KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has announced to pile pressure on government and stakeholders to ensure regular supply of water in the Kathmandu Valley from the Melamchi drinking water project.

A parliamentary party meeting of the RSP held Friday decided to conduct such program on February 4.

Nisha Dangi, the RSP whip in the parliamentary party, said that all 21 MPs of the RSP will meet at Melamchi bazaar and then visit the project site by carrying empty water vessels to fetch water.

The RSP has been carrying out its leaders’ trek to exert pressure to the stakeholders for timely completion of the stranded infrastructure projects.

As part of the same journey, the RSP is launching its two months program beginning February 4. And such programs would be carried out in 21 infrastructure projects having poor performance.

RSP lawmaker Binita Kathayat said the party would carry out such activities without affecting the parliament and parliamentary committee meetings.

The RSP is also preparing to bring five non-governmental bills in the parliament’s upcoming session. “We will make public about the bills soon,” Dangi said.
