The incident occurred on Monday, and the victim, identified as a 46-year-old man with the surname Gurung, was part of a group from the Shek Kwu Chau Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre.

As per the South China Morning Post, the rehabilitation center’s staff had organized a swimming session around 12:30 in the afternoon for the group.

Approximately 10 minutes into the activity, a friend noticed Gurung floating in the water and promptly informed the rehabilitation staff.
