All-Party meeting underway in Kirtipur, Vote counting expected after 10 PM



KATHMANDU: An all-party meeting has commenced in Kirtipur Municipality to discuss the vote counting process.

According to the Office of the Chief Election Officer, the meeting began at 6:45 p.m., and preparations are underway to start counting after 10 p.m. if an agreement is reached.

All ballot boxes from the polling stations were brought to the counting center by 6 p.m.

A voter turnout of 67% was recorded in this by-election, compared to 79.24% in the 2022 local elections.

A total of 19 candidates are competing in this municipality. By-elections were also held in wards 1 and 4.
