SGNHC to expand heart diseases treatment nationwide

KATHMANDU: The Shahid Gangalal National Heart Centre (SGNHC) has announced to expand its heart disease treatment services across all seven Provinces in the country.

The meeting of the Centre’s Board of Directors presided by Minister for Health and Population and also the Board Chair Pradeep Poudel here today took the decision to this effect, it was shared.

The Ministry has directed the Centre to expedite the process for expansion of the heart disease treatment beyond the federal capital.

The Ministry will facilitate extension of the Centre’s services to six others provinces besides the Bagmati Province.

Minister Poudel shared that specialized cancer treatment services has also been initiated in all other six provinces through provincial hospitals.

It may be noted that Minister Poudel on August 11 had outlined 100 priorities and plans to deliver on after he took office.

One among those priorities was to ensure cancer treatment services and health diseases treatment facilities to patients across all seven provinces.

Additionally, Ministry’s Spokesperson Dr Prakash Budhathoki shared that process to provide treatment for the ‘burn cases’ patients for free of cost in all provinces has been taken forward following the approval from the Ministry of Finance for the same.
