PM Oli to attend BIMSTEC Summit in Thailand, expected to visit USA for UN General Assembly

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is set to embark on an official visit to Thailand and the United States next month.

PM Oli will attend the sixth Summit of the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) in Thailand, which is tentatively scheduled for September 4 and 5.

This visit will mark PM Oli’s first foreign trip of his fourth term, provided no other international engagements occur before then.

Following the BIMSTEC Summit, PM Oli is expected to travel to the United States to participate in the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

The assembly will convene on September 10, with the high-level General Debate starting on September 24.

PM Oli is scheduled to address the assembly on September 26.
