PCL Nursing now requires grade 12 graduation

KATHMANDU: The Medical Education Commission has announced a new requirement for students aspiring to study nursing, stating that only those who have completed Grade 12 will be eligible.

This marks a change from the previous qualification standard, which required only a Secondary Education Examination (SEE) for admission into the Proficiency Certificate Level (PCL) nursing program.

During a meeting of the Education Committee on Thursday, the Commission’s Vice Chairman, Professor Dr. Anjani Kumar Jha, confirmed that the decision has been finalized and that the Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT) will be notified soon.
