News about power coalition change a mere rumor: Home Minister Lamichhane

KATHMANDU: Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane, has indicated that the talk about changing the power equation is merely a rumor.

Responding to the questions about the power coalition change, Rastriya Swatantra Party Chairman Lamichhane stated that he has no information about any ongoing discussion to change in the power equation.

“It’s just a hullabaloo. I have no clue. I am also part of the government. I am also a partner in the coalition. There is nothing more to it. Recently, I had discussions with two top leaders, sometimes misunderstandings arise and we have to meet. It’s just a routine meeting. There is nothing serious to be taken from it,” he clarified.

On Saturday, Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba discussed the possibility of forming an NC-UML government following his meeting with UML Chairman KP Oli amidst political speculations.
