NEPSE rises by double digits, trading volume shrinks

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) saw a double-digit increase on Monday, the second trading day of the week.

The NEPSE index rose by 16.29 points, reaching 2,053 points.

Shares of 176 companies increased in value, while shares of 60 companies decreased.

Throughout the day, 7,165,735 shares of 323 companies were traded, amounting to a total turnover of Rs 2.99 billion.

Nepal Finance had the highest trading volume today, with shares worth Rs 191.3 million traded.

Shares of NRN were traded for Rs 118.5 million, and Janaki Finance saw a trading volume of Rs 97.6 million.

Himalayan Energy Development investors saw the highest gains today, with a return of 9.74 percent.

Investors in Dordi Khola Hydropower gained 8.47 percent, while Corporate Development Bank investors gained 7.52 percent.

However, Nepal Finance investors experienced the most significant losses today.
