ICC T20 Cricket World Cup kicks off today



KATHMANDU: The ICC T20 Cricket World Cup is set to kick off on Saturday.

According to the English schedule, the opening match, which is scheduled for June 1, will start in Nepal at 6:30 am on Sunday.

In the jointly organized event by America and the West Indies, the first match of the World Cup Cricket will see a competition between the home team, the USA, and Canada in Group A. The opening match will take place at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas.

Running for a month from June 1 to July 1, 20 teams will participate in the tournament. On Sunday evening at 8:00 PM, there will be a match between the West Indies and Papua New Guinea. Nepal, in Group D, will compete against the Netherlands in their first match on June 4.

In their second match, Nepal will play against Sri Lanka on June 12, and on June 15, they will face South Africa. Similarly, on June 17, Nepal will compete against Bangladesh. Nepal had a warm-up match with Canada earlier, while the warm-up match with America was canceled due to this year’s circumstances.
