China aims for peace and stability in Nepal: Dev Gurung

KATHMANDU: CPN-Maoist Center General Secretary Dev Prasad Gurung shared that his recent visit to China has significantly strengthened the bilateral relations between the two countries.

Speaking at an interaction organized by Sambad Dabali in Kathmandu on Wednesday, Gurung highlighted China’s readiness to support Nepal in achieving peace, prosperity, and political stability.

“During our meetings with Chinese senior officials, we were encouraged by their unwavering commitment to assist Nepal in its journey towards prosperity and stability. China is keen to see a stable government in Nepal and is eager to foster collaboration among communist parties,” stated Gurung, who was invited to China by the International Department of the Communist Party of China.

Gurung led a 30-member delegation during the visit.

Shifting gears, Gurung expressed confidence in the continuity of the current government until the upcoming parliamentary elections.

He emphasized that the government will adhere to the existing political dynamics until the end of the parliamentary term.

Reflecting on the recent success of the Third Nepal Investment Summit held from April 28 to 29, Gurung stressed the importance of encouraging foreign investment and capital inflow to generate employment opportunities and propel the nation towards prosperity.
