Bagmati CM Jamkattel garners vote of confidence



HETAUDA: Bagmati Province Chief Minister Shalikaram Jamkattel has successfully obtained a vote of confidence on Sunday.

A total of 56 members of the Bagmati Provincial Assembly voted in his favor.

The Speaker of the Bagmati Provincial Assembly confirmed that Chief Minister Jamkattel received the vote of confidence due to the majority support from standing members in the Provincial Assembly.

Chief Minister Jamkattel garnered votes of confidence from 27 members of the CPN-UML, 21 from the CPN-Maoist Center, 2 from the Hamro Nepali Party, and 7 from the CPN-Unified Socialist Party Nepal.

However, 37 members from the Nepali Congress voted against Chief Minister Jamkattel.

Two parties in the Provincial Assembly, namely Rastriya Prajatantra Party and Nepal Workers and Peasants Party, chose to remain neutral during the vote of confidence motion held today.
