DOFE accountant Niraula arrested for alleged bribery

KATHMANDU: The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has initiated legal proceedings against Pramod Niraula, an accountant currently employed at the Department of Foreign Employment in Tahachal, Kathmandu, on charges of corruption.

Niraula was apprehended for allegedly accepting a bribe of 15,000 rupees from an individual seeking services, purportedly in connection with the return of a deposited amount.

According to the CIAA, he has been formally charged under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2002, and a case has been lodged against him at the Special Court in Kathmandu.
