Protesters in Kathmandu demand protection for Nepali citizens serving in Russian Army

KATHMANDU: Demonstrators took to the streets in Kathmandu today, demanding safeguards for the lives of Nepali individuals serving in the Russian Army.

Grieving families, mourning the loss of their loved ones or facing uncertainty due to their absence, gathered in front of the Singha Durbar on Monday morning to voice their concerns.

Amidst the rally, police detained over a dozen individuals, including Kritu Bhandari, an advocate for the protection of civilians serving in the Russian Army, for demonstrating in a restricted zone.

The demonstrators urged authorities to repatriate the missing individuals and those serving in the army, while also calling for compensation to be provided to the families of those who have perished.
