T20: Nepal ‘A’ playing against Ireland in third match today

KATHMANDU: Nepal ‘A’ is gearing up for the third encounter against Ireland ‘A’ in the T20 series today.

However, the series stands firmly in Ireland’s grasp, having clinched victory in the previous games.

The match is scheduled to commence at 1 pm today at the TU Ground in Kirtipur.

Despite Lokesh Bam’s impressive century, Nepal faced defeat by 21 runs in the series opener on Friday, followed by a 40-run loss in the second match at the Kirtipur ground on Saturday.

In the first match, Nepal fell short, managing only 201 runs in 19.3 overs in pursuit of Ireland ‘A’s formidable target of 223 runs.

Similarly, in the second match, chasing a target of 225 runs, Nepal succumbed to 184 runs in 17.5 overs, losing all wickets.

Looking ahead, Nepal is also poised for a one-day series with Ireland, following the conclusion of the T20 series.

The one-day series is set to kick off on April 3. Subsequent matches are scheduled for April 5 and April 7 at the TU Cricket ground.

Prior to this, Ireland ‘A’ had engaged in a two-match T20I series with the national team, where Nepal emerged victorious, claiming the series in both encounters.
