Snowfall blankets Dhorpatan

BAGLUNG: The upper region of Baglung witnessed its second snowfall of the year as the weather took a turn, leading to snow-covered landscapes on Thursday morning.

The Dhorpatan valley grappled with blockages caused by the recent snowfall.

Om Bahadur Gharti Magar, a resident of Nisikhola Rural Municipality-6, reported snowfall extending to the borders of Baglung, East Rukum, and Rolpa.

Notably, Dhorpatan hunting reserve in Baglung experienced its second snowfall this year.

Local resident Ganga Bahadur Bhandari highlighted the challenges arising from the morning snowfall, making it difficult to provide food for horses, cattle, and other livestock.

Bhandari expressed concern over the complications caused by the snowfall, especially regarding the ropes in Dhorpatan.

Following the early snowfall, the region experienced a prolonged dry spell, adversely affecting crops.

Farmers faced the grim reality of their wheat and barley crops withering in the fields due to the absence of regular rainfall.

Providing a ray of hope, local Prem Bahadur Gharti Magar welcomed the recent snowfall, emphasizing its significance for the farmers.

He noted that the precipitation comes as a relief during a season when farmers are in desperate need of rain.
