BHAKTAPUR: Nepali Congress (NC) General Secretary Bishwa Prakash Sharma emphasized the significance of a forward-thinking approach, advocating for Vision ’94 over the electoral mantra ‘Mission 84’ for nation-building commitment.

During the 48th National Unity and Reconciliation Day event organized by the NC’s Bhaktapur District Committee on Monday, he stressed the importance of shifting focus towards the ‘Vision 94’ campaign, steering away from election-centric concerns and prioritizing the holistic development of all sectors.

Encouraging collaboration among all political parties to craft a unified agenda for national progress, rather than solely concentrating on impending elections, General Secretary Sharma highlighted the necessity of formulating and executing development plans up to the year 2094 BS.

Referring to the consensus reached on constitutional matters, he underscored the importance of inter-party cooperation to fulfill the remaining tasks in the peace process. He emphasized the collective responsibility in nurturing ownership of the Constitution and advancing the nation towards prosperity.

Sharma also noted the need to capitalize on opportunities for foreign employment due to the country’s significant population.

“Redirecting efforts towards creating more employment options aims to deter Nepali citizens from seeking work abroad for extended periods, fostering their swift return and thereby expanding the scope of foreign employment within the country,” he concluded.
