Blanket of fog and mist envelops Terai-Madhesh

KATHMANDU: The Terai-Madhesh region finds itself veiled in a thick layer of fog and mist, with most areas currently experiencing reduced visibility, according to the Weather Forecasting Division.

Over the past three to four days, the Terai has been consistently shrouded in fog, creating a chilly atmosphere due to the absence of direct sunlight.

The prevalent weather conditions have brought about a cold spell in the districts of Terai Madhesh, casting an ethereal ambiance over the landscape.

The Division has highlighted the prevailing influence of western winds across Nepal, bringing about changes in the weather conditions.

While the rest of the country experiences clear skies, the hilly regions are currently observing partly cloudy conditions, according to the Division.

As the day progresses, the weather will become clearer in the hilly areas, with the rest of the country expected to maintain partly cloudy conditions, it said.

A notable aspect is the potential for light snowfall in select areas of the high hills and Himalayan regions within the Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.

Given the recent drop in temperatures, the Division has urged people to take precautions against the cold weather effects.
