Nepali Congress unveiling CWC decisions today



KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress (NC) is holding a special press conference today at 1 pm, according to Krishna Prasad Paudel, Chief Secretary of the party office.

The conference, to be held at the party’s central office, aims to disseminate the outcomes of the Central Working Committee (CWC) meeting held on Saturday and to outline the agenda for National Unity and Reconciliation Day scheduled for tomorrow.

During the central committee meeting convened from December 28, crucial decisions were reached, particularly establishing the criteria for selecting candidates for the National Assembly.

The central committee emphasized inclusive representation, intending to incorporate both the deprived and distinguished members.

The central committee also underscored the imperative for governmental improvement, advocating for adherence to principles of good governance and responsiveness to the expectations of the public.

Moreover, sister organizations have been directed to extend their deadlines by six months, urging prompt completion of their conventions.

In addition, the Central Working Committee endorsed the decision to hold the Mahasamiti meeting in Lalitpur from February 19 to 22, 2024.
