KATHMANDU: Nepal Students Union (NSU), a sister organization of the ruling Nepali Congress, demonstrated in front of the Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu for disregarding Nepal’s updated map, known as the “chuche map,” from its recent revised version.

Students protested in front of the Chinese Embassy in Baluwatar by displaying placards in protest and shouting slogans against China.

Police, meanwhile, arrested them and detained them for about an hour.

The NSU also submitted a diplomatic note to the Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu demanding the correction of the map.

China issued a new map earlier this week.
