All religions and cultures get equal opportunity in democracy: Deuba



KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) President and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that it is only in a democracy that all ethnicities, languages, religions and cultures get an equal opportunity.

Extending best wishes on the occasion of the Janai Purnima and Gaijatra festivals today, he stated that to protect all the cultural heritages and to keep these festivals alive for the future generations is our common duty and responsibility.

“Nepal is a beautiful country full of multi-caste, multi-religious, multi-cultural and multi-religious characteristics. The various ethnic communities here have their unique customs, lifestyle, traditions and festivals. We have our own tradition of goodwill, respecting each and every festival,” Deuba.

He also wished for happiness, peace and prosperity to all the Nepali on the occasion of Janai Purnima and Gaijatra festivals.
