KAILALI: Police have recovered a body of a woman murdered over a property dispute after one and a half months after her death.

A woman allegedly killed her husband’s second wife in Bhalka, Lamkichuha Municipality-4, Kailali.

The victim, Manju Rawal, 33, had been missing since June 8, 2023, and only her skeleton was discovered.

The incident is suspected to be linked to a property dispute between Goma Rawal, the first wife of Janak Bahadur Rawal, and Manju Rawal, the second wife. Janak Bahadur had died on March 17, 2021.

Following the death registration, Goma filed an application seeking to include only her name on the registration, claiming that Manju had divorced Janak Bahadur almost two years ago. This dispute led to a case filed for registering the death with false information.

Amidst the ongoing conflict, Manju went missing on June 8, 2023, and her brother filed a complaint. On July 30, 2023, Manju’s body was discovered near Setikhor Khola in the community forest.

Police have nabbed Goma Rawal, her daughter Barsha Rawal and nephew Bharat Rawal for their alleged involvement in the death of Manju.
