Maoist Center mulling over holding Special Convention in November



KATHMANDU: The ruling CPN-Maoist Center is planning to organize the Special Convention of the party in November.

According to Maoist Center sources, this proposal was prepared in the meeting of the party officials held at the Prime Minister’s residence, Baluwatar, on Monday morning.

Deputy General Secretary of the party Haribol Gajurel shared that the Standing Committee meeting to be held on Wednesday morning will approve the proposal to organize Special Convention and it would then be submitted at the Central Committee meeting to be held in the afternoon on the same day.

The General Convention of the Maoist Center held Maoists held in December 2021 decided to hold a special convention of the party within a year.

The party decided to call the Special Convention after receiving wide criticism saying failure to organize the convention on time was paralyzing the party organization.

According to leader Gajurel, the Statute Convention will be held before the Special Convention.
