Khaptad hosting Spiritual Conference on June 6-8



KATHMANDU: Khaptad known for its religious and touristic significance located in the Sudurpaschim Province is hosting the Spiritual Conference on coming June 6-8.

The-first-of-its kind event in Khapad is the joint initiation of the Sudurpaschim government and the Khaptad Tourism Development Committee.

Khapad is known as the Bhu Swarga (Heaven on the Earth), for its pristine beauty.

The event aims to promote the religious and spiritual touristic aspects concerning the area and support the development of the Province, according to Khaptad Area Tourism and Management Committee executive director Bhim Bahadur Khadka.

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ is scheduled to inaugurate the Conference on June 6.

India’s Yoga instructors Baba Ramadev and Balkrishna Acharya will be conducting sessions at the Conference.

A 401-member Conference Main Preparation Committee has been formed under the convenorship of Sudurpaschim Chief Minister Kamal Bahadur Shah in view of organizing the event.

Similarly, other 12 sub-committees have been constituted. Khaptad lies at an altitude of around 3,200 meters above sea level, bordering four districts: Bajhang, Bajura, Achham and Doti in the Province.
