NC’s Shekhar faction reiterates demand of ‘dignified’ representation in govt

KATHMANDU: As Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda is set to expand the cabinet, a faction of the Nepali Congress (NC) led by Shekhar Koirala faction has reiterated its position seeking a “dignified” representation in the government.

NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba has already picked the names of the ministers from the party to represent the party in the Prime Minister Dahal-led coalition government.

The NC has decided to join the government with 8 ministries.

The Koirala-led faction, meanwhile, reiterated its position, stating that the party leadership should not overlook them while appointing ministers to the Dahal-led cabinet.

A leader of the Koirala faction emphasized the need for its “fair and dignified representation” in the government, stating that if NC receives eight ministries, the faction should receive at least three.
