KATHMANDU: The government has called for a Cabinet meeting scheduled for 2 pm this afternoon, with significant decisions anticipated regarding the Balkumari incident.
According to a source at the Office of the Prime Minister, officials are expected to face suspension in connection with the Balkumari incident, and the Cabinet meeting has been convened to make decisions accordingly.
Moreover, the Cabinet is likely to address compensation for the families of the two youths who lost their lives in Balkumari on Friday.
Among those facing suspension are Dandu Raj Ghimire, the current Director General, and Gurudatta Subedi, serving as the Director at EPS Korea Section. Additionally, DSP Umesh Lamasl, who commanded the deployment of as many as 125 security personnel at Balkumari during the incident, and the Personal Security Officer (PSO) of Minister Prakash Jwala, will also be subject to suspension.
