PM Dahal briefed on Balkumari incident: Calls for speedy and fair investigation

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has been briefed about the physical and human losses in the Balkumari incident that occurred yesterday.

Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha, Home Secretary Dinesh Bhattarai, Inspector General of Nepal Police Basanta Kunwar, Inspector General of the Armed Police Force Raju Aryal, Chief District Officer of Lalitpur, and the Police Chief in Lalitpur provided the Prime Minister with a detailed briefing about the incident at his official residence in Baluwatar this morning.

They informed the Prime Minister that a probe committee had been formed to investigate the unpleasant incident.

PM Dahal expressed that the confrontation was tragic and urged the authorities involved to conduct a speedy and fair investigation, as conveyed by PM Dahal’s personal secretary, Ramesh Malla.

Earlier, two individuals were killed in a clash between agitating ESP students and police on Thursday.
