Nepal Super League: Dhangadhi and Lalitpur clash for championship tittle today



KATHMANDU: The final match of the Nepal Super League (NSL) football is set to take place on Saturday evening.

Dhangadhi FC and Lalitpur City FC will compete for the championship title at the Dasarath Stadium, Tripureshwar, Kathmandu, scheduled to kick off at 5:15 PM.

In the league phase, after eight matches, Dhangadhi secured second place with 13 points, winning three, drawing four, and losing one game. They progressed to the finals after defeating Pokhara Thunders in the first qualifier.

Similarly, Lalitpur City FC, with a record of two wins, four draws, and two losses in the league phase, eliminated Kathmandu Rangers in the eliminator and defeated Pokhara Thunders in the second qualifier to reach the final.

Dhangadhi NSL is also the runner-up of the inaugural season. In 2021, they clinched the runner-up title by defeating Kathmandu Rangers 1-0 in the finals.

Likewise, Lalitpur City FC has reached the final for the first time. In the previous season, they were knocked out in the second qualifier, losing 3-0 to Kathmandu Rangers.
