Durga Prasai set to unveil ‘civilian govt’ under his leadership

KATHMANDU: Campaigner Durga Prasai is gearing up to announce the formation of a ‘civilian government,’ marking a significant shift in the political landscape.

The Durga faction, under his leadership, has scheduled the official announcement for December 16.

The envisioned ‘citizen government’ aims to chart a new course in Nepalese politics by directing its initiatives against established political parties.

The Prasain-led movement, known as the “Nation, Nationality, Religion, Culture and Citizen Rescue Campaign,” is poised to extend its reach from the ward level to the central governance, transcending district boundaries.

Hari Karki, a member of the group’s leadership, stated that Prasai is slated to assume the role of Prime Minister in the civilian government.

Karki disclosed that meticulous considerations are underway to determine the composition of the cabinet, indicating a thoughtful and strategic approach to the formation of his administration.
