Winter Tragedy in Jajarkot: Three-year-old succumbs to pneumonia, sheltering under tarpaulin after earthquake

JAJARKOT, Nov 30: In a heartbreaking incident in Kushe Rural Municipality, Jajarkot district, a three-year-old child, the daughter of Sunil Badi, succumbed to the harsh cold on Wednesday.

The chairperson of the rural municipality, Hari Chandra Basnet, reported that the child, suffering from pneumonia aggravated by the extreme cold, tragically passed away on the way to the hospital.

Compounding the family’s plight, their house was damaged during the Jajarkot earthquake on November 3, leaving them living under tarpaulin. The challenging living conditions further exacerbated the vulnerability of the young child, leading to this unfortunate loss.

This tragic incident sheds light on the urgent need for support and attention to communities facing adversity, especially during the unforgiving winter months. Our thoughts are with the grieving family during this difficult time.
