UML stresses on collaboration for nation’s economic development

KATHMANDU: Chief Whip of the CPN-UML Padam Giri has asserted that his party was not involved in the game of toppling the government.

He contended that the major opposition party was not into this activity of toppling the government when other political parties and their leaders were arguing for a change of government.

However, he said that the present coalition government needed to be changed to improve the nation’s economy.

“The coalition government has not been able to improve the economic sector and the time has come for a change of government for economic improvement. The economic sector is not only dwindling at present, there is economic recession and the risk of the country becoming economically a failed nation has increased,” he argued.

He stressed the need to take forward the political course in a new manner.

Stating that it is the responsibility of Nepal’s political parties themselves to take the peace process to a conclusion, he said the UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres only has goodwill for that.
