Talks between govt and agitating doctors positive, doctors withdraw protest programs

KATHMANDU: An amicable agreement has been negotiated between the government and the protesting doctors.

This agreement was the result of extensive discussions that took place at the Ministry of Home Affairs on Saturday evening.

As a direct consequence of this agreement, the agitating doctors made the decision to withdraw their protest program, which had persisted for a duration of five days.

Lately, the Struggle Committee issued a demand for the swift apprehension and prosecution of those responsible for the unfortunate incidents that transpired in various hospitals, including Manipal in Pokhara, Chitwan, Hetouda, Kanchanpur, Belauri, Lamjung, Patan, and several others.

They emphasized the imperative need to guarantee the safety and security of doctors.

The government has agreed to take action against those involved in attacking the doctors, and ensure the security of health workers at their workplace.
