KATHMANDU: In a recent development at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), police confiscated 2.7 kg of gold on Friday evening.

The substantial haul of precious metal was discovered during a routine inspection at the arrival terminal.

The gold was in the possession of a Filipino woman who had disembarked from a Fly Dubai aircraft.

Authorities transferred both the seized gold and the Filipino woman to the TIA Customs Office.

An investigation has been launched by the police to unravel the circumstances surrounding this significant gold seizure.
