KATHMANDU: A Buddha Air flight with CPN-UML leaders had to return to Kathmandu after encountering difficulties while attempting to land in Janakpur.

Among the notable passengers were CPN-UML Senior Vice President Ishwor Pokharel, Vice President Subash Nemwang, Bishnu Paudel, Ashta Laxmi Shakya, and Amrit Bohara.

The leaders were flying to Janakpur to participate in the party’s Secretariat meeting.

The aircraft encountered a technical issue shortly before its scheduled landing, prompting its return to Kathmandu, according to statements from UML leader Nemwang.

Merely 23 minutes into the flight, the crew was alerted to a malfunction onboard.

UML leaders are now making arrangements to journey to Janakpur via an alternate flight. The CPN-UML Secretariat meeting is still slated to convene in Siraha today.
