Koshi CM Karki proposes formation of all-party government

BIRATNAGAR: Chief Minister of Koshi Province, Hikmat Kumar Karki has expressed his ongoing efforts to establish an all-party government in the province.

Responding to queries during a discussion in the Provincial Assembly regarding the vote of confidence, Chief Minister Karki affirmed that the outcome would determine the success of his endeavors.

He stated that he held consultations with the leaders of other political parties on Thursday, in addition to his own party, and stated, “I continue to support the formation of an all-party government.”

As the leader of the UML parliamentary party, Karki acknowledged that his own party would have fewer opportunities in an all-party government, but he expressed his willingness to embrace such a scenario.

However, he cautioned that if everyone closes their doors and resorts to confrontation, there will be no way forward. Karki had previously emphasized, “No alliance can sustain itself by disregarding one another, especially the largest party.”
