KATHMANDU: CPN-Maoist Center has honored Everest climber Hari Budha Magar.
Budha Magar, aged 43, made history on May 19 by successfully reaching the summit of the world’s tallest mountain, becoming the first person with double above-the-knee amputations to achieve this remarkable feat.
During a special ceremony held at the party’s central office in Parisdanda, Vice-Chair Krishna Bahadur Mahara honored Budha Magar, a former Gurkha army soldier.
In addition to honoring his accomplishment, the CPN-Maoist Center expressed support for Budha Magar’s upcoming endeavor: a “world peace campaign.” Vice-Chair Mahara pledged the party’s full assistance in furthering this noble cause.
