Govt. aims at 6 percent economic growth

KATHMANDU: The government has set a target of achieving a 6 percent economic growth rate in the next fiscal year 2080/81.

Further, it aims to limit inflation to below 6.5 percent. Presenting the budget statement in Parliament on Monday, Finance Minister Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat said the government expects to achieve six percent economic growth in the coming financial year.

Inflation is expected to be limited to 6.5 percent. Furthermore, the Nepal Rastra Bank will decide the monetary policy to help achieve the aforementioned target, he added.
