Martyrs should be credited for major achievements: VP Pun

KATHMANDU: Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun has said that the main credit for establishment of democracy, federal democratic republic and other achievements goes to the martyrs.

He has also expressed his high appreciation for the contribution of all the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the establishment of democracy, federal democratic republic and high respect for the martyrs’ families.

In a message on the occasion of Martyrs’ Day-2079 here today, the Vice President has paid tributes to all the martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the movement against the autocratic Rana regime and the subsequent major political revolutions and struggles.

“After a long political struggle of the Nepali people, a proportional and inclusive governance system with republic, federalism, secularism and social justice has been established.”

These achievements obtained from the sacrifices of the great people have been institutionalized through the constitution, he said.
