DOLAKHA: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has claimed that the national economy is getting strengthened gradually.

Speaking at the Dolakha Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Trade and Tourism Festival inauguration, he noted an economic resurgence compared to when he assumed office.

The Prime Minister emphasized recent improvements in remittances, revenue, and foreign currency reserves, expressing optimism for the nation’s economic upswing. Pledging a new approach to his work, he assured a commitment to this positive trajectory.

Highlighting the Festival’s potential to boost Dolakha’s production and tourism, he revealed plans for a highway linking China to India through Dolakha and voiced support for constructing a ‘film city’ in the region.

Chandra Prasad Dhakal, President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), urged the government’s serious consideration for fostering a vibrant economy, emphasizing collaboration with the private sector.

Former Minister Parbat Gurung stressed the importance of good governance in curbing corruption to bolster economic growth. Additionally, former Minister Jip Chhiring Lama underlined Dolakha’s hydroelectric potential and suggested government investment in hydropower development. Bishal Khadka, former minister of Bagmati Province, advocated for operating an airport in Jiri and sought governmental support.

The Festival, inaugurated today, will continue until January 7, featuring a diverse array of cultural performances.
